Henderson, Nevada

Henderson is an incorporated city in Clark County, Nevada, on the southern side of the Las Vegas Valley. It is Nevada’s second-largest incorporated city, behind Las Vegas. The Nevada State Demographer estimated its population at 363,568 in 2025. Henderson covers nearly 118.5 square miles and has its own city government and city limits, separate from Las Vegas.

Henderson began as a World War II community built around the Basic Magnesium plant. The city officially incorporated on April 16, 1953. Downtown Henderson grew around Water Street, which became the city's commercial and civic center. Later growth brought master-planned communities such as Green Valley, Seven Hills and Inspirada. The McCullough Range and Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area lie along the city's southern desert edge.
